That’s Spooktacular!
I didn’t make it to Spooktacular at Riverside Discovery Center last year, so I made a point of getting out there this year, for their 23rd (?) annual event.
Wow! What fantastic fun for kiddos! (Though I wonder how the zoo critters react to all the hubub.)
As a youngster, I would have been gleefully terrified to be walking in the dark through a zoo where there are known to live wild animals that might just eat me.
Pictures ensue:

Meet another kind of frank. (The din-din offering at the concession stand. Meh. But the hot chocolate was A-OK.)

I LOLed pretty good over this one - a crashed City of Scottsbluff truck, with skeletons inside! Someone had a lot of fun placing that truck!
Speaking of LOL, there were pirates at Spooktacular.
Not that pirates are ordinarily laughable. But some of them sure are!
Now, my absolute favorite part of the Spooktacular. The incredible number of jack-o-lanterns! (Done with the help of local schoolkiddos.)
Bugman and I did our own jack-o-lanterns late this year, finishing them just minutes before the trick-or-treaters arrived at our door.
We’re just a couple of pumpkinheads.
Happy Halloween!
