Cooking with farmers market goodies

Tomorrow is another winter farmers market.

I had to work last winter market, so I didn’t get any photos of the goodies I bought. I took some photos of some of the finished products instead.

French toast, made with sunflower seed bread and eggs from the market.

The French toast, topped with Very, Very, Berry jam (from a previous market - jam not available again until the summer market).

And, a few items from a Scottish-themed meal.

Cock-a-leekie soup, with leeks from the market.

Vegetarian haggis, along with “neeps and tatties” – mashed potato and mashed turnips (turnips available at the market).

Go to the farmers market this Saturday and see what home-cooked meal ingredients you can find.

UPDATE: The market charity this week is Skipper’s Cupboard, featuring Snickers the beagle.

    I’m sooooo verrrry sad that my Very Very Berry Jam is all gone : ( It was YUMMMMM!!!! : )
