Party at the airport

October 29, 2010

Woo. It’s been weeks since I’ve posted, and look . . . the last one was about Huskers, and this one is, too. (Have I assimilated or what?)

I’m posting about a party at the airport. Our little BFF is so friendly, you can go there just to have fun.

I don’t have cable at my house, so husband and I decided to go to the Skyport restaurant at the airport to watch the Husker game last Saturday.

The game is projected up on the wall, and the menu has greasy food items from which to choose to nosh upon whilst quaffing your beverage of choice and watching the Huskers trounce their opponent. (Just wish there were more snacky-type foods available, preferably lower-salt, not-too-fatty ones. There was a salad bar . . . how fun would it be to have an appetizer bar?)

The cool thing about chillin’ at the Skyport for the game is that you can share the excitement of the game with other people, but you don’t have to clean up the house for guests to come over. Also, there are more toilets for those halftime potty breaks.

Oh! And also, there were drawings for prizes, courtesy of Mike’s Husker Stuff! I won a t-shirt. Husband won a magnet. Are we lucky or what??

Here’s a really crummy photo from the event last week taken with a cell phone. There were several more people there over the course of the game, as people came and went.

I’m pretty sure there will be more of these events. It’d be really fun to get a group of people together there. When’s the next game again? I’m not good at following these things. Maybe tomorrow, since we had a “Husker treat day” at work today?

UPDATE: no party at the airport 10/30. They didn’t want to interfere with a Red Cross fundraiser at the Oregon Trail Lounge.
