You’re doing WHAT with Jesus?

June 17, 2010

I saw this sign on a church in town recently:

The definition of “chumming” that immediately sprang to my mind was not the first definition, but the second:

n. Bait usually consisting of oily fish ground up and scattered on the water.

v. chummed, chum·ming, chums

v.intr. To fish with such bait. To lure (fish) with such bait.

And how do you define “with” . . . ?

So many, um, sacrilegious comments come to mind. Best left unsaid. It’s been a hard enough week for Jesus already.

Ha! That’s too funny. The first thought that popped into my mind was “Little Lisa’s Slurry” from The Simpsons. It would be interesting to go here the message on Sunday to see if they’re actually using the word in the correct sense. 🙂

ummm…I just noticed I used “here” instead of “hear”. I thought I should correct myself in front of all you writer-types.
