The Feed Barn cajun boil
As mentioned in a previous post, I wanted to go back to The Feed Barn in Mitchell to try their reuben sandwich. And, as predicted, husband tried out the cajun boil, which is served only on Friday and Saturday nights. The cost of the sandwich and the seafood averaged out to the cost of two ordinary dinners, so that worked out OK.
My verdict on the reuben?
Meh. Nothing special.
My verdict on the cajun boil?
Bwahahaha! It was a hoot to see the thing served.
Diners ordering a boil get a sheet of white butcher paper, and a waitroid dumps the contents of a metal bucket onto the table in front of them. I found this uncouth presentation quite funny.
Husband enjoyed the crab legs, shrimp, and crawdads. I enjoyed the fact that it took him long enough to tease the meat out of the crustacean shells that I was done eating before he was, for once. One problem with that, though: his baked potato and corn cob were cold by the time he got around to eating them. Enh . . . out-of-season corn-on-the-cob isn’t so good anyhow.
