This wouldn’t happen in a big city

October 21, 2009

Having decided to make Scottsbluff our new home, we needed a place to live, and flew out for a weekend of house shopping. We rented a car, which turned out to be a bit of a hassle when the car died on a Sunday, when the rental office was closed. Having put in a successful offer on a house, we were ready to fly back home, starting at the Western Nebraska Regional Airport in Scottsbluff. (I *LOVE* that the airport designation is “BFF“.) Problem was, our flight out was at 6am, waaay before the car rental office was open, and they didn’t have a key drop box. Solution: leave the car unlocked in the airport parking lot with the keys over the sun visor. *THAT* wouldn’t happen in any other city I’ve lived in.
